A List of Great Websites of Authors, Agents, Editors, and other Resources
Writing Community and Resources :
Abosulute Write - a very large community of all genres of fiction and non-fiction. Check out the Watercooler for information on agents, publishers, querying, wait time, ect. Also if you can handle the feedback, it can be a good place to get a quick critique or find a crit partner or beta reader.
Romance Divas – a more intimate community of romance writers. A great place to connect with fellow writers, find a crit partner, and chit-chat in the down time of the publishing industry. Offers great online workshops once a month.
Verla Kay – known as the blue board. A larger community of writers and authors specializing in the ever-growing children’s and YA market.
YALitChat – community of Young Adult writers. It’s free to join but to get hte full benefits there is a minimal membership fee – and well worth it as the funds go to grants for fellow YALitChat members.
Query Shark - Agent Janet Reid’s shark tank for the querying author. A great place to see what an agent looks for in a query letter. You don’t have to submit to Query Shark to learn from other’s triumphs and, uhm, mistakes.
Excerpt Monday - a place for writers to showcase their writing once a month, whether you are published or on the road to publication.
